Soccer – Heidelberg Utd vs Coburg Utd at Olympic Park.

Once again I travelled about Melbourne on another sports photography adventure, this time I was shooting a Mens Soccer Match: Heidelberg United vs Coburg United at Olympic Park. The atmosphere was interesting with the two teams being constantly cheared and geered at by there respective supporters not knowing the rules that much the most I could understand was the booooing when the umpires made a decision that that team did not support or the rampade coach who saying various words to his players in some way was trying to restore order to his team.

Well today I was apart of the overal makeup of the game as I attended the grounds with my yellow reflective vest on with MEDIA printed in large words on the back, this was recognised by a few supporters who made mention to shoot various players, I was even asked at one stage who I shooting for, of which I mentioned that my photos would be sent to Goal Weekly and also to a local Melbourne paper.

This time round I found that it was a bit easier to make eye contact with the ball and knowing when to actually be looking through the camera to nail that sports-action style shot was happening a little more frequently then before however still have room for improvement and my work is critiqued before even being sent off to the media outlets.

Back to the match, the play was intense, with the score being 0-0 for the first quarter, with each team having many attempts at goal however these were deffended skillfully by the other team. This was almost the same for the second quarter however Heidelburg scored a goal after some excellent game play and then about ten or so minutes later another goal was scored, this sealed the game with the score ending in Heidelburg’s favour 2-0
